Hello Friends and fellow Scrappers and Paper crafters!
Today, I'm sharing a two page spread with pictures from a late July day trip to our state capital, Springfield, Illinois! On this day, we visited the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum as well as Lincoln Tomb. People from all over the world visit the Lincoln Tomb daily. The impact Lincoln has made on generations is truly sobering.
For these pages, I too inspiration from two sketch challenges...one is from
Sketches In Thyme and
Challenge YOUrself!
This is Sketch #291 from Sketches in Thyme:
Here's Challenge #45 from Challenge YOUrself:
For this 2 page spread, I tried to use papers that would lend a patriotic feel while still keeping the focus on the photos. The navy (basket weave) pattern paper is very old and I'm thrilled to finally use it on these pages. This paper helps draw the pages together visually.
We had beautiful weather for this day trip. Sometimes late July in Illinois can mean very hot temps coupled with HUMID conditions. But, we enjoyed beautiful skies and mild temperatures.
Until next time, happy scrap booking and paper crafting!
