Sketchabilities - Sketch #146

The pictures on this layout were taken on a recent trip to Los Angeles.

The trip agenda was very busy, so there were only a few minutes available for a short walk at Belmont Shore Beach (Long Beach, CA).

Since I live in the Midwest, opportunities to dip my toes in the Pacific (or the Atlantic for that matter) are few and far between!

Here is the sketch I used for this page. It's from the Sketchabilities blog.

Let's Get Sketchy - August Week 4

Here is my layout using the August Week 4 sketch from the Let's Get Sketchy blog.

For The Paper Forest design team this month, I've  loved working with the Pebbles "Harvest" Collection. It's perfect for many different themes including baking, kitchen, fall and even thanksgiving.

This layout features a photo of my younger daughter helping me bake cookies! We often bake together (but probably still not quite as often as she might like),  If you look closely, you can see she is smiling from ear to ear.

SOS - August Sketch Challenge #29

This "tic tac toe" board from the SOS blog made for a FUN challenge! Decided to use TWO rows instead of just one.....

First Column:
Tag(s)
Polka Dots
Yellow

First Row:
Tag(s)
4 - Patterened Papers
Stripes

This year, when my husband and younger daughter planted a garden they also planted some sunflower seeds. The seed package said the plants would be 10 feet tall -- well, the package was correct! These beautiful sunflowers are easily AT LEAST 10 feet high. It must have something to do with being planted on the South-East side of our house where the sun shines during the morning hours.

Let's Get Sketchy - August Week 3

Here is the August Week 3 sketch from "Let's Get Sketchy!"

Loved the "banner" on this sketch and knew right away I wanted to do something fun with the photos taken for my recent birthday. Instead of birthday cake, we had BIRTHDAY PIE! My family has a delicious recipe for "Peanut Butter Surprise" pie -- a little different than cake, but the birthday candles didn't seem to mind!

Materials Used
- Pebbles "Harvest" Collection - patterned papers, dimensional stickers, "baked with love" stamp
- Bo Bunny Blossoms (Harvest Orange Bouquet)
- Doodlebug Design Inc. (mini paper doilies)
- LilyBeeDesign (ABC Stickers)
- American Crafts (thickers)
- WeRMemory Keepers (mini 8 celtic punch)
- Circle punch
- Misc. from my stash (red cardstock, Stickles, buttons, ink, present punch)

Bo Bunny August Sketch

Here's the layout I made using the August Sketch from the Bo Bunny Blog!

The paper scraps and brads are all from Bo Bunny's "Sweet Life Ephemera" package. The buttons and background paper are just random from my stash.

Would love to see what all my scrappin' friends create using this sketch -- please share your pages with me, OK?

Let's Get Sketchy - August Week 2

Hard to believe the month of August is already half over!

Here's the August Week #2 sketch from "Let's Get Sketchy." To be honest, I'm planning to use this sketch over and over again -- lots of different looks are possible with this one! (That's probably true for most sketches -- but this is one I KNOW for sure I'll be using over and over again.)

Materials Used:
- Background paper: "Homecoming/Prom from Scrappin' Sports & More
- Paper scraps: KaiserCraft BOTANICA collection papers, Basic Grey (blue pattern behind photo) and Misc. gray cardstock
- KaiserCraft (rhinestones)
- Martha Stewart - Fern stickers
- WeRMemory Keepers (mini 8 celtic punch)
- Misc from my stash (X-large scallop circle punch)
