Let's Get Sketchy - September Week 4

Hello Scrappin' and Papercraftin' Friends!

Let me know how you like this week's sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

Personally, I liked the positioning of the title and flowers on the sketch. As you can see, I stayed pretty close to the sketch when building this layout.

Challenge YOUrself #22

Last week, I visited a blog called Challenge YOUrself! They provide a monthly sketch challenge and here is the current sketch.........

As Scrapbookers, many of us TAKE lots of pictures but aren't IN many pictures, so this blog asks that layouts include photos of YOU!

My family is great about helping me take photos, but my take on this sketch features a "selfie" taken with my younger daughter. We were in Nashville, TN for a softball tournament. While waiting for my older daughter's game to start and we were just having fun taking a few snapshots. This particular photos is one of my favorites.

Hope you will enjoy trying this Challenge YOUrself sketch for your next layout!

Let's Get Sketchy - September Week 3

Have you heard the "country" song "Drunk On A Plane" by Dierks Bentley?
The idea of this layout was inspired by that song....except I'm calling it "Hugs On A Train!"

Every time I hear the song, I'm reminded of this train ride and I change the words from "gettin' drunk on a plane" to "gettin' hugs on a train!"

What song(s) has inspired one of your layouts? Do tell!

Here is the sketch I used for this layout....It's the September Week 3 Sketch from the "Let's Get Sktechy" blog.

SOS - September Sketch Challenge #30

Sketch Challenge #30 ~ SCHOOL SUPPLIES

For for this sketch challenge from Scrap Our Stash, there was an added challenge to use 3 school supplies on the layout. It was so much fun, that I decided not to stop at just 3 -- I used 4: stapler, library date stamp, notebook paper and a paperclip!

Other materials used included some awesome chevron washi tape from We R Memory Keepers and papers, stickers and an embossing folder all from Kaisercraft's "Time Machine" collection. Take a look and then try using some school supplies on your next layout or card!

Happy Scrappin'!

Chicago is .....my kind of town!

Now that we have a Chicago-based college student in our family, we have a lot more opportunities to visit and take pictures of this beautiful city! Here is one my more recent layouts with a focus on CHICAGO!!

The Kaisercraft "Time Machine" collection was super fun to work with! Especially LOVE the sticker sheet that goes with this collection. It includes LOTS of letter stickers -- more than enough for several layouts and cards!

One of my favorite things to see in Chicago is the beautiful Buckingham Fountain.

For this layout, the main focus is an 8x10 photo taken at the fountain.

Lots of different tools and supplies were used to create this layout.

It was lots of fun to use so many of my faves which are pictured here....

And now...here is how the page turned out!

Frame - Off the Page Project

Each month for the Design Team at The Paper Forest, we are asked to make an "off the page" project. This month, I decided to try a frame and I'm happy to share it with you here!

This month, my Design Team packet included things from the Kaisercraft "Time Machine" collection. I added some additional supplies like BoBunny glitter embossing paste, Kaisercraft rhinestones and some paper flowers.

Thanks for stopping by...hope you are having fun making your own "off the page" creations!!

Let's Get Sketchy - September Week 1!

Loved working with this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!

I think you will like it, too -- give it a try, won't you?

This time of year, so many people are taking and sharing "first day of school" photos. Our family enjoys that tradition, too. But, for this layout, the focus is on a LAST day of school photo taken last May...... Hard to believe our youngest is more than half done with high school!
