SOS Sketch #27

This sketch from the Scrap Our Stash blog looked like fun so I decided to enter a layout and card in their June Sketch #27 Challenge. If you have time, go to the Scrap Our Stash blog to check out all the other wonderful "takes" on this sketch!

For my layout, I use paper from the BoBunny Boardwalk collection along with a few leftover Layered Chipboard stickers from the same line.

For the hearts, I asked one of my daughters to pencil them on some scraps of paper -- this was a fun way to involve her in my creative process. Whenever I look at this page I'll remember she took the time to draw the hearts for me to cut out!

Last but not least, here is the card I made with some of the scraps that were left over from this layout! I loved getting to use the Boardwalk "Neptune" paper on BOTH the layout as well as for the card background. The rich, bright yellow, orange and reds of this paper really appeal to me -- especially when put behind the "blues" in the seahorse focal item on the card.

Until next time....happy scrapping to you!

BoBunny: June Sketch

While surfing for inspiration, I came across this awesome sketch on the BoBunny blog. I knew right away I wanted to try using this sketch because it includes 3 photo mats.

The BoBunny "Boardwalk" collection is so fun to work with. It is perfect for "beach" and "ocean" photos but it's also versatile for other themes. The "Drift" and "Sailaway" papers worked perfectly for a baseball themed layout -- I used some solid cardstock to pull in the team color (red) and the blue skies seen on game day.

Can't wait to do another layout using papers from this collection!!

June Projects

As a new member of the Summer-Fall Design Team for The Paper Forest Scrapbook Boutique, I’m excited to begin sharing my monthly projects with you!

This month, the wonderful Design Team materials I worked with included beautiful papers and stickers from Kaisercraft’s “Chase Rainbows” collection, gorgeous Petalloo flowers and large tags from Dear Lizzy! American Crafts.

To help finish the projects, I also used a few favorites from my home “stash” including a variety of ribbon, date stamp, an embossing folder, scallop circle punches, some stamping ink (for inking some of the edges), Kaisercraft self-adhesive rhinestones and lime green Stickles.

MINI ORIGAMI ALBUM
This mini origami album measures 3 inches square and can be made from just two 12x12 papers! Since finding the directions for this online a couple weeks ago, I’ve already made several of these fun albums – they go together pretty quickly once you get the hang of the folding!

CARD
Added a little extra “texture” to the card by embossing a tag with the Cuttlebug!

LAYOUT
This layout was based on a sketch from a Scrapbook Generation book called Sketches for Scrapbooking Volume 1. I bought this book a couple years ago and it’s my “go to” when I’m looking for some inspiration!

Origami Mini Album

Found instructions for this adorable origami mini-album online and just had to give it a try! The finished album size is 3 inches square which was the perfect size for using some of the "Hello Baby" SN@P! Insta Squares. Planning to give this album to a friend who has a 6 month old baby girl. Hope she enjoys tucking photos and memories into the pages!

Gotta LOVE a great deal!

Last week, a scrapbooking buddie "enabled" my addiction to paper when she told me about a great deal from www.embellishonline.com. Check out the awesome stash that arrived in this Simple Stories Box Sale for just $40! Already have a plan for using some of the "Hello Baby" SN@P! Insta Squares.

Welcome!

Welcome to Emilee's Paper Caper.
Stay tuned for photos and stories about my various creations!
