Let's Get Sketchy: October Week 4

Had some fun working with this sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

One of my favorite things about Chicago is Millennium Park on Michigan Avenue. It features Cloudgate and the Jay Pritzker Pavillion. This page features a few photos taken of (and from) the park during a couple recent trips to Chicago.

The photo on the left was taken from the park looking down Madison Street...if you look carefully, you can see the "L" (elevated) train going down Wabash Ave a couple blocks down.

Sketches In Thyme: Sketch #245

Don't you just love this sketch (#245) from Sketches in Thmye?

Last weekend, I went to a retreat/crop on Friday and Saturday. During that time, I used my Cuttlebug to dry emboss a number of card front backgrounds. I had some extras left over, so I put them in my scrap stash to use later. One of them worked perfectly for the "title" banner on this page!

Let's Get Sketchy - October Week 3 Sketch

Check out the October Week 3 sketch from the Let's Get Sketchy blog!

Always looking for a reason to use my paper scraps and this sketch was the perfect opportunity.

For the "circle," I used a circle border punch (Martha Stewart).
Last week, I punched a lot of leaves using a few borrow leaf punches from a friend. As you can see, I'm still adding them to projects!

Until next time, happy scrapbooking and papercrafting!

Here's Sketch #224 from Sketches In Thyme:

For my take on this sketch, I turned the sketch on it's right side.

Let's Get Sketchy: October Week 2

It's MONDAY and that means it's time for another sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!

The photos on this page were taken yesterday during our visit to Rader Family Farms. We bought a pumpkin and some decorative gourds for our table. My husband and 17 year old daughter took on the CORN MAZE. They always invite me to join them, but I'm afraid I'll get lost (or worse -- have an allergy attack)!

I loved the circles in the background of this sketch. To cut the circles, I got out my old (but still VERY functional) ShapeCutter (by FISKARS). I recently borrowed a few leaf punches from a friend  and I've been using them to add leaves to most of my recent pages -- including this one! I'll be returning the borrowed punches later this week -- so, I'll probably have to hit my scrap bin and punch some more leaves to have on hand.

Always looking for opportunities to add ephemera, I used the Corn Maze entry bracelet as an embellishment. As for the page title, I clipped it from a promotional card I picked up at the farm! .

Until next time....Happy scrapbooking and papercrafting!

1 page, 2 challenges!

Today I'm sharing a page that combines 2 challenges.....
One from the Scrap Our Stash blog and the other from Let's Get Sketchy!

For the Scrap Our Stash book inspired challenge, I was inspired by the word "Investigation" in the book title. It made me think of maps and discovering things. So, for the background paper, I used a paper with a map design. For the title, I incorporated the word "Discover."
