Sketches In Thyme - Sketch #265

In this post, I'm sharing a page created with Sketch #265 from Sketches In Thyme!

For the title on this page, I turned to my stash of chipboard letters! Need to remember to use these more often -- it's always fund to dump them out of the bag and find the right mix of patterns.

This past week my husband was looking for something in the basement when he found a zip lock bag stuffed full of 8x8 papers/pads. Innocently, I told him I'd been looking all over for it -- but honestly, I'd forgotten I even had this stash. So, it was almost like getting NEW paper. LOL! I wasted no time putting some of this 8x8 paper stash to work in the background layers of this layout.

I'm a fan of keeping ANY scrap that might be useful later...You know the strips of paper (with paper company name and bar code) that you cut off your 12x12 papers? Well, a couple of these strips were perfect for making the candles on this page! The "flames" were created with the help of some "Stickles." Aren't they cute?!

I've saved these "epoxy" embellies in my stash for a number of years and I thought they were perfect for this page. So, I finally used them!!

Until next time, happy scrap booking and paper crafting!

Let's Get Sketchy - February 15th Sketch Challenge

Hello Friends! Today I'm sharing a page created with the February 15th Sketch Challenge from Let's Get Sketchy!

This page features a picture taken at our family gathering to celebrate February birthdays. I love to make birthday layouts and I also love balloons. My circle punch and some paper scraps were all I needed to create some festive balloons for this page.

Until next time, happy scrap booking and paper crafting!

SOS February Sketch Challenge - CUPID

Here's a page created for the February Sketch Challenge from Scrap Our Stash

Here are the items I used for each letter:
C = circle punch
U = Uchida circle punch
P = purple scraps
I = ink
D = die cut

For the page title, I used a SIZZIX die cut alphabet.
Love how quickly you can turn paper scraps into the perfect page title!

Until next time, happy scrap booking and paper crafting!

Creative Scrappers - Sketch #303

Today I'm sharing a page I just finished using Sketch #303 from Creative Scrappers

All the papers used on this page were in my stash -- mostly from my scrap bin! In keeping with my New Year's Resolution to "use more paper than I buy," the background paper is also from my stash. However, I did recently visit Michael's where I couldn't resist 70% off a paper pad with 48 12x12 papers. It was a great bargain, but I'm really going to have to "get busy" using papers from my stash to make up for this purchase! LOL!

To create the stars on this page, I turned to a oldie but a goodie...my Fiskars Shape Cutter!

Until next time, happy scrap booking and paper crafting!

SOS February Stash Challenge & Sketches In Thyme Sketch #263

This scrapbook page is a "companion" page to go with yesterday's post. All the photos were taken at a January crop!

For this layout, I used the February Tic Tac Toe Stash Challenge from Scrap Our Stash as well as Sketch #260 from Sketches in Thyme.

The items I used for the Tic Tac Toe:
The Color Red
Hearts
Mixed Alpha Title

Here's Sketch #263:

The "tickets" on this page are used for "prize drawings" at these crops. I didn't win anything but they remind me of all the fun we have at "Denise's Retreats," so I added some of them to the layout.

Until next time, happy scrap booking and paper crafting!

Let's Get Sketchy - February 1st Challenge (Sketch + Mood Board)

Here's the latest sketch from Let's Get Sketchy! This is for their February 1st Challenge which also includes a Mood Board. Please visit them to see the board and many great design team takes on this Challenge!

For the background paper, I used a pretty double sided paper by Anna Griffin. I had two pieces of it, so I used the opposite side for one of the strips that form the borders.

The photos on this page were taken at the "January Denise's Retreat." This is a crop that's held six times a year (odd months). We always have a great time and it's always a treat to see long-time friends as well as meet new friends, too. When I snapped these pictures, I used a "selfie stick" and said "Say Selfie Stick!" For the title of this page, I shortened that phrase to just "Say Selfie!"

Until next time, happy scrap booking and paper crafting!
