2 pages: "Your December Story" & Scrap Our Stash: Nov. Sketch +3

Hello Friends and Fellow Papercrafters,

Today, I am sharing 2 pages with you!

A friend recently introduced me to some free classes from www.getitscrapped.com. The free classes were very good, and I'm thinking about getting a paid membership but haven't done so just yet. However, I did decide to participate in their "Your December Story" experience. It is a 6-week experience to learn how to use a “hero’s journey” approach to December storytelling. I also joined their "Your December Story" Facebook Group. And, I hope to participate in the six weekly challenges.

Here's the page I completed for the first Weekly Challenge. Usually, I don't journal much on my pages. This challenge inspired me to document how I transition into the holiday season.

Here is the page I completed for the November Sketch + 3 Challenge on the Scrap Our Stash blog

List 1: Grey
List 2: Hero Arts
(brushstroke alphabet stamps - used for page title)
List 3: Indigo

(Found the "#FANTASTIC" self-inking stamp at the Dollar Tree store recently -- you may have noticed it on a couple of my other recent pages, too!)

Hope you enjoyed a happy Thanksgiving holiday (if you are in U.S.).

Until next time, happy scrapbooking and papercrafting!

Let's Get Sketchy - November Week 3 Sketch

Hello! Our family is getting ready to enjoy Thanksgiving tomorrow! Husband has been getting the house ready for at least a few weeks. Today's list of preparations is well in hand. That means I found some free time to scrapbook! Today, I'm sharing a page inspired by the November Week 3 Sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!

The photo on this page is of the view from my daughter's college apartment. She loves her school and the benefits of living in Chicago's South Loop -- the pretty views being just one! While the sketch called for stars, I decided hearts worked better with this subject. These hearts were punched (from scraps, of course) some time ago. There are still many left, too!

Hope you will enjoy time with friends and/or family this holiday weekend! There will be 8 of us for the traditional Thanksgiving meal tomorrow. We always look forward to it and prepare for weeks and then it's over all too quickly! This year, I'll try to take more pictures of the food and perhaps even scrapbook them with a few of the recipes.

Until next time...Happy scrapbooking and papercrafting!

One Page, One Challenge, One Sketch!

Hello! Today I'm sharing a page created for the Book Cover Challenge from Scrap Our Stash. I used the November Week 2 Sketch from Let's Get Sketchy for added inspiration!

For the Book Cover Challenge, what inspired me was the title of the book. I used the words "There's no place like...." to start the journaling on the page.

The Book Cover Challenge also asked for 3+ stars to be on the page -- see if you can find how many stars I used!

Going to crops is a great way to make new friends and to get new ideas. At a recent crop, I paged through the album of a scrapbooker I just met. On several of her pages, she used circle punches to make balloons. They were so cute so I've been using this idea on many of my recent cards and pages -- including this page! Aren't the balloons so cute!? Plus, it was a great way to use some of my paper scraps, too.

Until next time....Happy scrapbooking and papercrafting!

A page, a challenge and a sketch!

Today I'm sharing one page that combines a challenge and a sketch from two of my favorite blogs! Here's Challenge #35 from the ChallengeYOUrself blog and Sketch #248 from Sketches in Thyme:

The pictures on this page were taken at an annual club "birthday crop" last weekend. At another recent crop, I got a cute "dot letter" alphabet stamp set off the "free" table. I used it for the "BIRTHDAY" banner lettering at the top of page and also for the word "friends" on the tag at the bottom of the page.

Until next time...Happy scrapbooking and papercrafting!!

Let's Get Sketchy: November Week 1

Here's the November Week 1 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy:

When I saw this sketch, the butterflies made me think of the phrase "time flies." And, when we were celebrating our youngest daughter's 18th birthday, that's exactly what all of us were saying to each other...Time Flies! How can this young lady be 18 years old already?!!

The background paper on this layout was purchased for 10 cents in a scrapbooking garage sale. I love it because of the beautiful but subtle designs. The designs give depth and variety to the soft colors (pink, white, gray).

Until next time...Happy scrapbooking and papercrafting!

Let's Get Sketchy: 5th Monday Challenge

Today I'm sharing a page for the 5th Monday Challenge from Let's Get Sketchy

For this challenge, they provided this fall mood board.

It worked perfectly with these fall pictures my daughter shared with me recently!

On Friday and Saturday, I went to the annual Scraps Club Birthday Crop and that's where I finished this layout! This is always one of my favorite crops of the year. The theme this year was "Color My World!" They had a "photo booth" with props as well as a card coloring contest. I was SO excited and surprised to win the card coloring contest -- the prize was a set of Gel Pens!

Until next time, Happy Scrapbooking and Papercrafting!
