Let's Get Sketchy - June Week 4

Today I'm sharing a layout inspired by the June Week 4 sketch from the Let's Get Sketchy blog:

Instead of the "stars" suggested by the sketch, I decided to
punch some flowers from scraps of paper left on my craft table.
For the center of the flowers, I used Stickles (glitter glue).

For the background, I used some Color Burst powder (Ken Oliver), and a stencil and Color Shine (both by Heidi Swapp).
The Color Burst made a pretty green/blue that reminded me of splashes of cool ocean water (subject of one of the photos).

Here's a look at the completed page:

Challenge YOUrself #30 + Sketches In Thyme Sketch #205

To help cap off an enjoyable weekend, I'm sharing a page inspired by combining two challenges --

This morning, I decided to experiment and play with some supplies.....
- butterfly stamps
- white embossing powder
- Color Burst powers (Ken Oliver)
- watercolor paints

I'm planning to cut out some of these butterflies for greeting cards, but decided
to use a few to help embellish this layout.

Until next time, Happy Scrapbooking and Papercrafting!

Scrap Our Stash - June Sketch + 3 Challenge

Here's the June Sketch +3 Challenge from the Scrap Our Stash blog:

Once again, the Scrap Our Stash blog has given me the reason to dig deep into my stash.
This time, I used some really OLD rub ons! Here are the items I used from each list....

  • List 1 = Polka Dots (background paper)
  • List 2 = Queen & Co (lime green washi tape)
  • List 3 = Rub On (circles)

Sketches In Thyme - Sketch #204

Today I'm sharing a page inspired by Sketch #204 from the Sketches In Thyme blog.

The circles in the background of the sketch reminded me of "freehand doodling" which prompted me to get out my Distressed Crayons (Tim Holtz). In the end, I was happy with the fun and relaxed mood the doodled circles help to convey.

Let's Get Sketchy - June Week 3

Here's my take on the June Week 3 sketch from Let's Get Sketchy.

The sketch called for flowers, but I recently learned how to make origami butterflies so I decided to use a few of them instead.

Until next time....Happy Scrapbooking and Papercrafting!

3 Sketches & 3 Pages (vol. 2)

Hello! Today, I'm sharing 3 sketches and the pages inspired by each.

First, here's the June Week 2 sketch from the Let's Get Sketchy blog!

Next, here's Sketch #203 from Sketches In Thyme.

Since the doilies I had were white, I decided to use some Color Shine spray (Heidi Swapp)
to help highlight Audrey's pink dress.

For the third and final sketch/page for today's post....
Here's the June 15 Challenge from the Stuck?! Sketches blog.

For the background, I decided to play with some office supplies (hole punch reinforcements) and some more Color Shine (Heidi Swapp)!

The sketch called for a circle in the background, so I used one of my favorite tools...the Circle Stamper from We R Memory Keepers.

Stuck?! June 1 Challenge Sketch

This sketch from the Stuck?! Sketches blog inspired me to get out my watercolor paints and brush! For the circle on this sketch, I chose for an imperfect, free-hand circle with watercolor. It was fun, quick and easy.

The border at the top and bottom of the page took a little more time -- but was totally worth it! Using a triangle paper punch, I dug into my bin of paper scraps to find several colors to make the pattern.

While the sketch called for only 1 photo, I wanted to include more pictures. To do this, decided to take an 11 inch long strip of paper and cut it to the same height of the main photo mat. Then I used a score board to fold the 11 inch long strip into sections (each as wide as the main photo mat).

3 Sketches & 3 Pages

Hello! Today, I'm sharing 3 sketches and the pages inspired by each.

First, here's Sketch #202 from the Sketches In Thyme blog!
June 1-7, Sketch #202

Now, here's Sketch #295 from Creative Scrappers!

For this page, I turned the sketch on it's right side so that it would work better with my photos. Since I had more pictures than the sketch called for, I used "library card" pockets to include more photos.

And, last but not least....Here's the June Week 1 Sketch from Let's Get Sketchy!

Until next time....

June BoBunny Sketch + SOS Stash Challenge!

Hello!

Today I'm trying something different than usual -- I'm combining TWO challenges! I know people do this all the time, but I don't do it often and found it to be pretty FUN! Here is the June Sketch from the BoBunny blog as well as the June Stash Challenge from the SOS blog.

The book "How to Surprise Dad" inspired me to use some photos of a recent family birthday surprise -- an ice cream cake from DQ! YUM!

Until next time...Happy Scrapbooking and Papercrafting!
